Azule Artist Residency is tucked into the mountains of western North Carolina. This residency was a lovely way to transition between the chaos of the semester, and a full summer in Mount Gretna. Grateful for many days of painting alongside my good friend, and good painter, Tai Lipan.

I painted the landscape surrounding Azule. The gouache paintings were not painted as a singular landscape scene, but rather as a composite of moments that sparked my curiosity, and helped me understand this magical place.
